It has been five months since the surgery. I have lost 60 plus pounds. Prior to the surgery, I lost 100 on my own and for two yrs was stuck at a plateau. Regardless of working out a lot, lifting heavy weights and light cardio, the scale would barely budge. I am allergic to a plethora of foods and ate very healthy. (Allergies included gluten, dairy, corn, rice, eggs, and citrus) I was at an impasse. I had been thinking gastric bypass, however, chose not to quite a few yrs ago.
Being the youngest of 7, looking at my older siblings health with knee replacement surgeries, back, neck, and heart issues, I did not want that for my future.
My insurance did not cover said gastric surgery as of July 2016.
I compared WLA to Southern California wlsurgery clinics and the cheapest was 16,000 whereas the costliest was 27,000 in Palm Springs.

I put this sleeve surgery on a credit card and leapt! My first experiences with the phone conversations from the agents were educational. Every time I called, I was given answers to all of my issues. I went alone due to family member deciding they didn't feel safe going to TJ.
There were absolutely no issues as far as being picked up at the San Diego airport nor crossing the border.

After leaving the United Sates, we entered into Mexico and were brought directly to the hospital in TJ. The hotel stay was a few blocks away and staying there was nice too. Both groups of staff at the two locations were awesome. Thank you WLA, you rock and have changed my life for the better.
