When I started my journey I was at 248 lbs. it has been 7months since my surgery and I'm weighing in at 145. This was the best decision that I ever made for me and my family. It has been a family lifestyle change for sure. I was so nervous about going to Mexico alone to have surgery and my family wasn't too happy about it either. Everyone I met even from the ride from the airport to the hotel were so nice. There were quite a few that were there alone as well. Everyone was so patient and helpful. I got pretty sick from the anesthetic but there were right there to help make me feel better. Dr. Almanza was very patient and willing to answer any questions we had. Everything ran pretty fast once we got to the hospital and got to speak with the Doctor. I would say that they have a well oiled machine going. I didn't feel as far as the surgery went that the risks were any higher going there than staying in the US. I had to go there because my insurance denied the surgery at the last minute and it's so expensive here. My bariatric Doctor here was more than willing to go ahead and see me right after I got home.
