I guess I thought I could handle the pain and it wouldn't be a big deal. I was wrong! First, let me say that I have fibromyalgia and this is the reason why the pain was greater for me then it is for most people. However, after 3 days the pain was gone. I knew I would have to eat less and I am fine with that but you also have to give up a lot of different kinds of foods that you may like before surgery. I found from other people's post that fast food makes you feel bad. I am only about 3 weeks out but I have lost 35 lbs altogether. I lost 12 lbs on the liquid diet before having the surgery and the rest after the surgery. I weighed 275 lbs to start with and I am down to 240lbs. I still want to eat but know I can not.
