I was quiet nervous when I began this life changing journey. A friend convinced me to move forward with my decision to have surgery. She had previously undergone the gastric sleeve surgery with great success. Once I made my mind up to do it, things started happening very quickly. The staff was very helpful in the planning process. When I arrived at my destination I was greeted with assistance and directives for immediate preparation for surgery. There was no wait time. It was done and over with before I knew it. Dr. Almonza spoke with me before surgery and explained the procedure in detail. The only regret that I have is that I did not have a chance to speak to the Dr. after surgery. My recovery was a bit uncomfortable. I had to stay on site an additional day due to a previous hernia surgery. I actually had to sleep on a table padded with blankets for two nights. Once I was allowed to go to the hotel, I was much more comfortable. The accomodations there were great. It has now been four months since my surgery and I have lost 30 pounds. I feel so much better healthwise and about myself in general. I would recommend this experience to anyone who has a weight problem. I am considering scheduling a tummy tuck for next year.
