My starting weight was 254lbs. surgery date 9/22/14 (5 day liquid diet ) wt 247lbs. Dr. Almanza was great and very professional. He explained the VGS procedure and personally asked each one of us to tell him what surgery we were having. He looks like he stepped out of GQ Magazine ...very easy on the eyes! The first night post op I had a lot of dry heaves & gas pain. Ambulating will help with the gas pains ; I didn't get up to walk like my roommates and I paid for it later :( HMN Hospital staff takes good care of you Preop ( EKG, IV , Labs) & Post Op with Analgesics , hydration, & antiemetic medications. They transport you back to Hotel Ticuana where you are greeted by a nurse who provides your new diet , Analgesics , IV hydration, & antiemetic medications. You are encouraged to walk so my roommate and I went walking and my panties were falling down so I had to discard them in the 7-11 bathroom trash. LOL :o My panties fit me prior to VGS and did not realize I was losing weight that rapidly. There is a lot of support around you so you never feel alone. They even take you shopping. A physician comes to see you in the hotel as well. The second day you go to Radiology to do two leak test with this god awful tasting dye  The last night the nurse gives you a Xray of you new stomach & discharge you by removing the JP drain, IV and give you PO meds. Currently, having Left shoulder pain:mad:. This whole experience was a blast made it into a vacation. Meet some amazing people who I will keep in touch with!
