I had been planning the lap band surgery for over two years. Right before I went out to have it done I found out that it was going to cost me $900.00 for the first visit back in the states to have the band filled and adjusted. Each visit after that was going to be $400.00. I called Dr. Almanza to ask about the sleeve, no adjustments, no fills for $1200.00 more. Also with the sleeve, the weight loss is permanent. I have spoke to a few people who had the lapband, and they were not happy with the results and with the extended cost. I have lost 50 pounds so far and have gone from a size 26 to an 18. I have been a big girl for over 20 years and I work in a healthcare facility, and I am over nutrition...go figure.
When we, my best friend Chris and I got to the airport, they picked us up in a limo, my first time riding in one of those, I felt special. The hotel was beautiful, and the staff was just wonderful. Now the hospital surprised me. It was very clean, and the staff was very professional, but it is not your ordinary hospital.
