Dr. Almanza and all of his staff were professional and accommodating. There is a lot of apprehension in going out of the country for surgical procedures, but the reality is, surgeons in Mexico receive an education just like surgeons in America. The difference is that in Mexico, you don't receive the "fluff" and you don't get charged for it either. This same surgery would start at $15,000 minimum, because you have to pay the doctor, the hospital fees, the anesthesiologist fees, etc. etc. etc. With Dr. Almanza, his fee covers everything - starting with the transportation from the airport, the facility, the lab, the staff at both, and the hotel, which is very nice! He is providing a service, and while you might not have a 5 star private room at the hospital, you will be comfortable and well taken care of. You are not paying for the million or billion dollar facility. You are paying for a surgeon period. He pays everyone else. Our society is one of gluttony, excess, and entitlement. Spend some time in Mexico and you will come to appreciate how hard these folks work. Dr. Almanza has had the procedure himself. It is simple, and if you follow the instructions, the recovery time is a breeze. I had surgery on Wednesday, and was back to work full time on Monday. There will always be nay-sayers out there. I've heard and read it all. Don't go down with expectations that it is anything like what you would receive in America, because it is not. Again...you aren't paying for the fluff. You are paying for the service, and the service is awesome! Thank you Dr. Almanza and all of your staff.
