My surgery was in Sept of 13. I did not know that I had to have the band adjusted after my incisions healed because my wife who also had the same surgery began loosing right away and I wasn't.
So after I found that a adjustment was needed I went back and had a blind adjustment done for $40. This was a mistake because it did absolutely no good. I still wasn't loosing any weight in fact I gained just a few pounds but that was going the wrong way!!
So I made arrangements to go back again and had a fill done with X-rays. This is what I highly reccomend. It is only $150 but that is what made the difference. Turns out that after the blind fill my Lap Band was still wide open, thus the slight weight gain. With the fill with X-ray we could actually see what was going on and when the dill was actually properly adjusted.
I found results in my eating habits right away. The fill w/X-ray was done in late January and today is Feb 27, I have already seen a loss of 20 pounds!!!
Needless to say I am very pleased with my small but ongoing success towards my weightloss goals!
BTW: my wife has lost 40 pounds in the 5 months since surgery without a fill. I am tottally happy for her but please don't think that that happens for everyone. Don't be afraid I'd getting a fill done. It is only a simple injection done with a small syringe needle, just like a shot. This is done into the scar tissue on your stomach where the port was installed and you don't even feel it.
So go ahead!
What are you waiting for??!!
I'm sorry I waited soo long.
