It's been 3 weeks since my VSG with Dr Almanza. I had such a wonderful experience! The pick up& travel to & from airport was great & everyone I delt with the whole time was extremely nice & caring. The surgery went off without a hitch & recovery for me, was not that bad. I never had to ask for pain or nausea medicine-- the nurse was always right on time to give everyone our meds! (Unlike my experience in my local hospital where I have to BEG for pain meds & they take their own sweet time -sometimes 4 hours or more!! to give any...). I would go back to Dr Almanza in a second!! Dr Benacourt even came to the hotel & 'hung out' with a group of us 'sleevers' and gave us all kinds of advise & laughs. I felt safe & secure the whole time I was there & knew I could ask for help anytime & receive it immediately. Our whole 'Thursday' group went out shopping together & got a whole lot of walking in. We had one girl in our group that had a rough time recovering, but when she joined us for shopping & walking, she felt much better. So remember--- even if you think you don't feel up to it---- Walk, walk, walk!!!! You'll feel better, faster! (By the way, I'm feeling great and have lost about 20 pounds!!!!).
