In my case, I was asked to follow the pre-op diet for three days before the operation, but I understand how important it was to the operation, so I followed it for 10 days. That being said, the operation was amazingly smooth, with almost no recovery time; the operation was on Wednesday, September 20th, and I was already back the following Monday.

In the first few days following the operation, I occasionally felt a bit of heartburn, but not too bad. I have now started to include more solid foods, and my life has otherwise returned to normal.
