I was very nervous about going into another country to have a surgery that would undoubtedly change my life...and change my life it did. This journey has been nothing short of amazing. I went to Dr. Almanza and had the gastric sleeve on April 24, 2013 and as of this date I am down 60 pounds. My only regret is that I did not do it sooner so that my health would start improving sooner. During this last month, I had an appointment with our family doctor and I am pleased to announce that I am no longer on blood pressure meds and he took me off my medicine for acid reflux that I have been on for several years. That's what I call getting healthy. I am also enjoying the compliments from family and friends, but I especially enjoy the ones from my husband. He has been so supportive of my decision.
