After I had children, I struggled with my weight. Eating and food were my stress relief. As I saw myself in pictures throughout the years, I felt ashamed and embarrassed. I tried many sensible diets and even most of the fad diets out there but none of them gave me the tools that I needed for longterm success. A friend of mine had the gastric sleeve procedure and was successful so I looked into it. I was sold on the procedure, but not on the expense. I did not qualify for the procedure through my insurance without any comorbidities, but I certainly did not want to wait until I was diagnosed with any chronic illnesses before doing something about it. I found Dr. Almanza and Weight Loss Agents and despite my apprehensions about the surgery itself and traveling out of the country for such a lifechanging experience, they walked me through every step of the journey. I am a nurse and I think that we tend to overanalyze our health and our care so we tend to try to predict how things will go based on our knowledge and experiences. Although the medical standards in Mexico are vastly different than they are here in the United States, it made me realize that sometimes it is reaching the desired outcome that should gain more attention than the unneccessary comparisons between standards. My weight loss journey with Dr. Almanza and Weight Loss agents was well orchestrated from beginning to end. They checked up on me before surgery and still call me months later! Their customer service is outstanding. I would not trade this experience for the world (although don't get me wrong...there were some bad days along the way) and I plan on going back someday for a "tune-up"!
