I had lap band surgery over existing Gastric bypass on November 15th at 7pm. I was on a plane back home the following evening at 5:30 pm. I felt alot better after my surgery than I expected. Of course i was a little concerned because everyone I told freaked out about me going to Mexico for surgery. I had done my research and Dr. Almanza and his facility had good comments about their their services. When we arrived the hospital it was located in a little strip mall, however upon going inside the facility I realized it was small but clean. The hardest part was waiting. They do 12 surgeries a day and mine happened to be the last one of the day In this time I got to visit with other patients who were there to have surgery as well. Going into surgery I weighed 315 pounds. Today as of 12-3-12 I am down 17 pounds. I am amazed that I feel so good so soon after the surgery. I have only had a few pains, as I was bending over the wrong way. I cant say enough about the staff at Jerusalem Hospital and the patient coordinator Michele Bratcher. They were all very caring and professional. I would recommend this facility to anyone.
