More Than I Expected *

I had the Gastric Sleeve done on April 9, 2015, almost six weeks ago. I was a little skeptical at first about traveling to Mexico; it took me almost two years to go through with. My weight was 386 pounds the first of this year. I dropped down to 358 pounds with the pre-op diet due to being on it for ten days and exercising. I went from 358 to 332 pounds in four weeks after my surgery. I can only imagine how much I'll lose once I have totally recovered and can exercise.

Dr. Almanza and all of his staff were awesome. The hotel was very nice overall and I met lots of people from the U.S. at the hotel. For some it was their first time just like myself, and for others they had been there two or more times to support others that they encouraged to come get the surgery after them. My wife met a young lady that had been to Mexico to have the surgery almost a year ago; and it went so well that she made three more trips to bring other family members. She took my wife to Starbucks and showed her around, being that she was very familiar with the area.

The nurses at the hotel were very supportive and the hotel staff were very friendly.

I would recommend that anyone that needs the surgery to go to Dr. Almanza. You don't have to wait a year or more like insurance companies do in the U.S. If I need a tummy tuck after I've lost all of my weight, I plan to go back to Tijuana.
