Arrived an hour early for pick up in San Diego, and when I checked in they said the driver would be there in 10 minutes. All the drivers are nice people, and will go out of their way to make crossing the border easier for you. Upon arriving at the motel (kind of like a Super 8), the staff was amazing as were the restaurant staff. I can't brag enough about them. I never had to want long for broth or ice. The rooms are really nice, beds are comfortable, the shower was great! The day of surgery we arrived at the hospital, and all of medical staff was wonderful. Surgery was in and out. I awoke in pain, but once I got to walking the pain decreased. Must remember to walk a lot to get that air out. I did share a room with two other ladies at the hospital, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We encouraged each other to walk, and the nurses desk was right outside our room. Back at the motel, we were greeted by the nurses who told us to shower. They were wonderful and handing out popsicles like they were drugs. They helped a lot since the first day you are restricted from broth. Everyday they checked on you and your incisions. WLA is still in contact with me after 3 weeks of surgery, and still responds to any questions I may have. I've lost 20 pounds since February 7. My only complaint: I thought I was mentally prepared for the post op diet the first 2 weeks, it's hard and sad. But now that I'm on my third week things are better. Don't cheat on the diet, follow it to the letter. You don't want to hurt yourself or hurt the stomach.
