Having the gastric sleeve surgery was one of the most life-changing decisions I have ever made. I had been a diabetic for 18 years and was at the maximum dosage level of pills, the next treatment step was to go on insulin. Besides the diabetes, I was about 55-60 lbs. overweight and was beginning to have a number of health issues as a result of the diabetes and weight. All of that has changed - I am now 42 lbs. lighter (hoping to loose a little more) and have been off of ALL diabetic medicine since the surgery. Health issues have all but disappeared, blood work results are fantastic, kidneys/heart functions are nearly back to normal, now have control of my appetite (5 bites fills me up), have more energy, and am now fitting into smaller clothes!! If you are uncertain about having this surgery with the weightloss agency, do not hesitate for one minute. You may be a little apprehensive when you get there, but let me reassure you, the surgeons and nursing staff are top notch and very professional - besides that, the cost is most reasonable. Take charge of your health and your life, treat yourself to a gastric sleeve!
