I made the decision to have a gastric sleeve procedure at the last minute. I had never contemplated this option . My wife had a friend at her work that had a sister that had studied up on this procedure and had decided to have it done. It was a little scary but because I had suffered from obesity most of my life I decided to do it. I flew out about one week after I made the decision. The experience overall went very smoothly. I was somewhat sore which was to be expected and I had to learn by trial and error how much I could now eat. I am now just a couple days short of the one year mark and I have lost approximately 105 pounds. I was wearing about size 48 pants before and now I fit comfortably in size 40. I feel comfortable swimming and riding my bike which I had not done for years. When I go out to eat with my wife I always share a plate with her. It has given me confidence in so many areas of my life. I am a dentist by profession and my patients cannot believe how different I look and feel today. The team there was very professional and I felt at ease throughout the whole experience. I would recommend it to anyone who has suffered with obesity for most of their life. It is truly a life changing experience.
