My experience was exactly as I expected, as I had read a great deal of others' testimonials here. I arrived on Friday in San Diego, had the surgery the same night, and was up and walking around a few hours later. On Saturday we went to the hotel which was very nice. The staff was all very attentive. Pain was minimal, but it did help to have my own heating pad, and I would highly recommend bringing one.

Don't expect the same hustle and bustle of care one might expect in a U.S. hospital. But still, the care was more than adequate. Don't expect to see a doctor after surgery if you are recovering well, as opposed to what you would expect here. I had no complications afterward, though one of the women in my group did have to go back to surgery. I am now 3 weeks post surgery and am able to eat small amounts of most foods, though I haven't really tried meat yet or high fiber veggies. The trick is to take everything very slowly.
