I've lost 100 lbs in 9 months and I'm still losing (a lot slower than before but still losing). It's not all roses and rainbows, and it's not "the easy way out", you have to put in the work. It's such an extremely different relationship with food that you have to get used to. I recommend going into it with the help of a therapist. Other than that, recovery was not bad for me. I was up and about a week after surgery. Another thing, please remember every body is different!! I made the mistake of comparing my progress to other's a lot. Focus on your own progress.
