I was 100 pounds overweight. My wonderful doctor had done it all for me - counseling, diet/nutrition guidelines, even a prescription for my self-induced hypertension. She was fully confident that I could get the weight off. I wasn't so sure. But I knew that even if I spent the next year or so losing it, I would then spend the next year or so gaining it all back. When I arrived, all went exactly as had been told to me. I scrutinized everything every step of the way. I even did a finger swipe of the OR floor - clean as a whistle. Most things were done exactly as would be done in a USA hospital. The things that were different were negligible.

I made the right decision. I am 2 1/2 weeks post sleeve gastrectomy, have lost 20 pounds, feel better already than I have in such a long time and look forward to the years of my life that I have left.
