Hello Alexis,

It is really good to hear from you, I am doing great. Since surgery I have lost 51 lbs., out of plus size clothing, and out of the 200's. My self-esteem, and motivation is high. I am enjoy exercising, and have joined a running/jogging team. I am up to walking/jogging 6 miles 3 days per week, and heavily into water aerobics.
I would like others that read this to know it is worth it. Prior to making this decision, I had no fears or doubts because I was worn out with diets, and the inability to maintain what I could lose. Honestly, I gave up and no longer cared.
Once home from surgery, I was weak due to eating very little. I never experienced complications, and healed very well. My primary care doctor was very pleased when he removed my stitches. Now, here was the challenge for me. It took over a month for my mind to come to terms with what my body had gone through. I would eat and puke up everything, everyday, all day. I consulted my doctor and he said "Marie, when you get tired of kissing the porcelain goddess (toilet & sink) you will stop eating too much. But, I was eating practically nothing. So, I began listening to my body. For a minute, I thought I was becoming anorexic. I am now fine and am well adjusted. The surgery is not a cure all, you must exercise. But, once the weight begin to come down, came the motivation to exercise.
Thank you very much for the care and professionalism I received from your office, and the medical team. Another thing, I have not had the desire to return to smoking cigarettes since the surgery. Today I love me, and have saved my life. God bless you all.
