I am a health care professional in the US and see the affects of obesity daily. It was a difficult choice to decide to travel to another country to have surgery. I can tell you the surgery was very simple from a recuperation standpoint but the first week to 10 days you are little whipped and easily dehydrated. A good support group is important as well as following the post op diet to avoid gastric problems.
I am now 6 months post op with a loss of 95# and doing very well. I do not have any dumping syndrome, nausea/ vomiting, etc. I started at 270 and am around 175# currently. I am able to be much more active as well as reduce BP medications significantly.
You must be committed to a life style change not a quick fix to be successful with this procedure. I would unequivocally do it again if asked.
Good luck with your decision to improve your life.
