I did a lot of research on the sleeve, band and bypass surgeries. I went with the gastric sleeve and I couldn't be happier. I lost 100 pounds in seven months and have reached my goal. I changed up my diet all the time and ate what my body craved and tried not to ever overeat.
I was so blessed to have the option to have surgery in Mexico. I could not have surgery in the states because they won't perform gastric surgery on anyone that has had an eating disorder. I was bulimic for almost thirty years and now I consider myself recovered in all areas of eating now.
I hope the doctors in the states start reviewing bulimic patients for this surgery (only if they qualify within guidelines). It is the best thing I could have ever done for myself and I thank God everyday for this life changing opportunity.
