To start with, I am very glad I made the decision to have the gastric sleeve. Dr Almanza did a very good job. I felt very safe at the hospital and the hotel we were staying at. The staff there was great, the nurses at the hotel were so sweet. My surgery was Nov.9th 2015 I have lost 25lbs. The only advice I have for someone fixing to make that decision is to go ahead and get your pass port, the driver was very nervous that four of us only had birth certificates and drivers license, so to relieve one stress is to go ahead and get the pass port. Another thing, if you go to pain management, see if your doctor can give you your pain med. in a patch. The first 24 hrs. you cannot have water due to the anesthesia and it would make things a lot easier for you.
