I cannot tell you how pleased I am with my decision to have the gastric sleeve procedure. My whole attitude and outlook on life has changed. When they say they remove the part of your stomach that tells you you're hungry (you know that awful voice in your head that never, ever stops telling you you're hungry?) it is no lie! That voice is GONE! Like really GONE! I can finally make reasonable decisions when it comes to food. I was 248# pre-surgery and today I am 168# - yes 80# lighter 8 months later. Surgery is not a magic pill that makes me fit and healthy, but it allowed me to get to a place that I could workout consistently and make smart food choices. I do work out 3-5 days a week and I do not eat processed food anymore - it tastes terrible to me. I eat REAL, full fat, full sugar, full flavor, food - just much, much less of it. :) I am so glad I chose to take this journey! In the top 3 of my best decision I have ever made!

PS I have learned to be okay with not eating everything on my plate. That was a hard one. I have also learned to take a smaller plate and put a lot less on it, but even then - I do not HAVE TO finish it. :)
