I am six months out from my gastric sleeve and have lost 125 pounds so far. I still have a ways to go but have reaped many benefits from surgery. From 3 days after surgery on, I have not had to take insulin or diabetic pills whatsoever. I am not hungry and feel great. I have had close follow up with my family doctor and no issues in healing. I can honestly say having a baby was far more painful than surgery. I had relatively minor discomfort only. I think the worst part is drinking the purple fluid for the leak test. The hotel was lovely and their staff. I cannot say enough about Alex, the nurse, at the hotel. If I could have put her in my suitcase to bring home I would have. Dr. Almanza was friendly and confident, though I do wish I could have learned more about his findings after surgery. The van drivers were polite and everything moved on time.
