My sugar was nearly 300 on operation day. I had suffered a heart attack, occasional HBP, and all of the other things that go along with being obese. Today my sugar is running an average of 55, I'm no longer always sweating, and my skin !! My skin is like it was when I was 30 ... Err.. Ok, 40. I haven't lost so quickly that I have a lot of excess skin, tho I do have an apron that will need removed in a year or so. The Vagus nerve was bumped - so now I sneeze when full. Tho its not a necessary indicator. Seriously I had some misgivings about the surgery - but I'm not a stranger to medical tourism. This, tho, was the first time that I used an agency rather than make my own arrangements with a local surgeon once I got to the country in question. I highly advise using an agency unless you are totally fluent in the language and have an extra week or so to find a doc - and a qualified nurse with you for aftercare - AND a place to recuperate. Air b&b isn't advisable. (yes, that's experience talking). With this company - everything was taken care of - and I have never gotten across the border quicker :) This was - without a doubt - the best decision and the easiest method. I just wish I had done it 2 years earlier. Check REGISTERED surgeons in Mexico. There are very few who are board certified for bariatric surgery. Dr. Almanza is on the list. I wouldn't trust the surgery to a non-certified surgeon. After all - its your life. For some reason, my pix aren't loading - but I will upload when I'm done losing :).
