I am 6 weeks post op and have lost a total of 30 lbs so far. I made the decision to get the gastric sleeve after failed attempts to lose weight using help from my pcp and nutritionist. I had tried prescription weight loss medication and diets. Sure I would lose 12-15 lbs only to gain them all back and more as soon as I stopped taking the medication, which I could not take all the time due to the way it is used as a prescription. I had surgery with Dr. Almanza, his team was great and I received good care while I was hospitalized. The hardest part will always be the liquid diet pre and post op but after that you will start feeling better and motivated to keep working on your weight loss journey.
