I was skeptical going into this surgery in Mexico all by myself, but when I arrived, I realized I wasn't by myself as I began to meet other patients, make new friends. I was surprised to see how well they were doing at only 1 day post-op. The hotel staff was awesome and so was was the nursing staff.

The day of my surgery was like clockwork, bloodwork, vitals taken, in a gown and off to surgery. Dr. Almanza was awesome, he talked to us before surgery, he told us exactly what he was going to do and answered questions. After surgery I was taken to my hospital room. The hospital was very clean and the staff very attentive. I was vomiting quite a bit, when I was vomiting, a staff member came in to pat me on the back until I felt better. Turned out I was allergic to my pain meds.

The next day we were back at the hotel under nursing care and lots of rests. We had Popsicles, broth and water whenever we wanted. Made a bunch of friends and we all stay in contact with each other through FB.

It has been 2 weeks, I lost 14 pounds. I am not quite on the mushy diet. My belly is not ready. Pretty much I can drink a Mango protein shake, cream of mushroom soup, applesauce and Atkins mocha protein shake going into week 3.

Glad I did this, my BP is already normal and I am guessing so is my very high cholesterol.

I would and will recommend Dr. Almanza to anyone who needs help to lose weight and get healthy.
