Everything went according to plan,mostly in a good way.The pick-up and drop-offs from the airport and clinic were punctual.The staff was overall very friendly,patient and accommodating.Being a physician I especially paid attention to the medical side.I was generally very pleased and found the physicians professional and competents.Individual attention (especially to the few who experienced more difficult post-op issues) was excellent.I personally fared very well with little pain,no nausea or gas issues (I do believe I was one of the fortunate few).
Now for a few negatives.The clinic,OR,and recovery room are a bit cramped and located in a small strip mall.I was expecting a stand alone,independent facility.Apparently the full 3 day recovery room was being remodeled ( something omitted from our info-pack).We were however relocated to a fine downtown Hotel where a 24hr duty nurse was available,but from which we had to be taken back to the clinic,to the X-ray facility,etc.Not a biggie.The fact that our temperatures were never taken and that blood pressure and pulse were occasionally measured with small,unreliable wrist cuffs was to be desired.
But overall I'm very satisfied,I feel great already,and to my surprise I had lost 12 lbs when I weighed myself the morning after returning home!And I was under the impression I would initially gain weight.No problems of any kind.I met some very nice people and I recommend the experience to any "overweight" person who truly want to change their life.And second best,the price is really right.
