When I decided to get the gastric sleeve done in Alberta , I found out I would be waiting about 3 years ,I would have to jump through a year of hoops for the Health care to pay and if they didn't it would be $30,000 plus to get it done. So I researched it on the Internet and you tube and in 2 weeks I was on my way to San Diego . They picked us up at the airport and took us to Tijuana for test and then to a beautiful hotel. It was very organized and very professional. I went for surgery and the next morning went shopping at the market. Make sure you don't eat the night before surgery , use the GasX strips , use the heating pad and walk to get the gas out and you will be fine. In 6 months I have lost 80 lbs and have 40 more to go . I can't eat very much at a time , but I eat more times a day and take lots of vitamins and water. I did start losing my hair but I try to eat protein and take vitamins for hair and nails from costco's and it has stopped. I love my new life and am living it again . I feel alive at last!!! I weighed 284 lbs at stat and 6 months later 204. I have included se pictures the first one is post op 15 weeks , then the day we arrived in Tijuana, the one in market with sombrero on was morning after the surgery and the last on was today , a little ways to go.
