I am only days away from my one year surgerversary! I remember being terrified about the decision not only to have the gastric sleeve surgery but to have it done in Mexico. I was strong and made the trip and although it will be a different experience then you would have in the states it was successfully performed by amazing professionals at a unbeatable price. When I came home I have had a up and down journey getting used to my new stomach and this will be a journey for you as well. You figure you are having a surgery that is a huge deal, you will most likely lose some hair, mentally it is a huge challenge because even though you won't be able to fit it in your stomach your head still wants it. I weighed 277 lbs at my highest and I'm 5'7 on surgery day I weighed 267 lbs and today I am 177lbs I have lost 100lbs and I'm about 20lbs from goal IN ONE YEAR!!!! Even in the 1 st six months after surgery if you would have asked me if I would lose 100lbs In a year I would have said no probably not. I have made the best decision. I feel terrific! I have one huge problem........ None of my clothes fit!! Boohoo right :) If you haven't made your decision yet, do it already! Dr. Almanza and his staff did an incredible job and I would recommend him to everyone. The end result will be well worth it.
