I had a Lap-Band procedure done in 2006 the band failed in 2012 and had to be removed. I started to regain the weight I had lost. I am a type II Diabetic and was forced back on Insulin as the result of the weight gain. In September of 2012 I decided to have The Vertical Sleeve Procedure. Weight Loss Agents handled all the details. I was sent detailed instructions on what to do. The only thing I had to do was get to the airport on time. The entire trip and procedure was EXACTLY as described. Every detail was preplanned and taken care of. The procedure took only a short time. I was up and walking down the hall in less than an hour after it was completed. I never had any pain or discomfort after the procedure although some of the others had some discomfort for a day or so after it was done.
I weighted 250 pounds before the lap band and took large doses of insulin twice a day. After the lap band I lost 100 pouinds in 14 months. I stopped needing Insulin and Glyphizide and cut my dose of Metformin in half. Three months after the removal I was back up to 190 pounds and back on Insulin. After the sleeve I lost two or three pounds a week intil I was back to my target weight +-3 pounds of 150. I feel great and have a lot of energy for a 69 year old man. I can eat anything I want to....I just don't want nearly as much! I have never once felt hungry since the sleeve. This was truely a life changing experience both physicially and emotionally. If you are a type II diabetic or just "appetite challenged" the sleeve can change your life. It dosen't take will power or special food. You no longer have to worry about it!

P.S. My favorite snack before bed is vanilla ice cream with hot fudge topping! It's just that now I have one small bowl instead of a half a gallon. One bowl fills me up and satisfies me like a half gallon used to. It's just that my stomach is smaller and it takes less to fill it.

P.P.S. Feeling full on much less is true of all foods not just ice cream and I can eat anything I want.
