After having children and raising them alone, between my Day Surgery management job, raising my children and an ill mother for eight years ... I stopped living for me. I put on 100 lbs in ONE year. YEP. VAIN me.
It was like I died to myself and forgot who I was, I even forgot what I enjoyed. Gaining that weight was like the impossible thing for me to do; but it happened. I tried every diet out there would loose up to 60 lbs just to gain it back within a couple of months.
I worked in healthcare for 25 years and had great Insurance. I signed up for the Gastric bypass, then canceled it out of fear. Three months later I signed up again, but a rude awakening; the Insurance policy changed and they no longer covered any bariatric surgery.
So how NOW how am I to pay for a $25,000.00 surgery in the US? I am now self employed and don't even have health coverage. So I prayed about it. I was desperate because I did not want to end up like my mother, who became diabetic and had high blood pressure that caused her to have a severe stroke, her legs both being amputated, she lost the ability to talk, and truly the only thing that worked was her brain. She knew everything but could never express herself. IT was the hardest thing I ever had to endure; painful to watch her live like this ... you see she wasn't just my mother she was my best friend also.
After praying over this I got on the websites to see how much a bariatric surgery would cost these days and I came to this website. I could not believe my eyes.
Ok, I have always heard if it sounds to good to be true throw it in the round file. But I'm a research queen, so I made some calls, watched You Tube and talked to the Liason ... everyone was friendly and very informative.
I did at first think going to Mexico might be a little dangerous, but I was not at all fearful because I truly believe when your time is up ... it's up weather or not you are in Mexico or the US; and I believe God gave me a peace about going there.
EVERYONE was amazing, Dr. Mario Almanza, OMGOSH a brilliant surgeon, the nurses ... OMGOSH again ... they treated me like I was the only patient there, but they had a full schedule. The owner to the hospital talked to you like you were his best friend .... WHO does that here in the US. The cleanliness was remarkable. You have to remember I was in Hospital management for over 20 years ... so I know what to look for. In two days I was already shopping and by the fourth day I felt as if I never had the surgery, my incisions are tiny and healed remarkable.
If you are having questions about this surgery (gastric sleeve) I highly recommend it, I have lost 69 lbs and it's only been 4 months on the 18th. I feel great. I would do it again with NO questions and I will definitely go to Mexico for any other surgery necessary without any hesitation. I did my homework on the Physicians and I give them an A Plus.
JUST DO IT!!! You'll be HAPPY YOU DID!!!
