I was about to give up when I was given the phone number of a young lady that had gone to Mexico and had surgery through Weight Loss Agents. After talking with her for about an hour, I went on the website and signed up for the surgery I wanted – Gastric Sleeve. The cost was so affordable that my husband also decided to have it done.
Our experience was a wonderful one. We flew to San Diego, California, and were picked up by an agent from the clinic, who escorted us across the border into Tijuana. We went straight to the hospital for our blood work and EKG and talked to the cardiologist. We then were taken to the hotel and checked into our room. We were taken to the hospital early the next morning, where e met our surgeon.
The nurses were extraordinary in the hospital. They did everything in their power to make us comfortable and keep us from being nervous. The care we received afterward was without comparison. Everything was wonderful, up to the point we were discharged and taken back to the hotel. But our care did NOT stop there. The hotel has 24/7 nursing staff available to surgery patients and we were treated like royalty.
We were escorted back across the border and driven to the airport 3 days after surgery. Weight Loss Agents were constantly in contact with us by text, phone or email the next 10-14 days. After that, if we had any questions we only needed to text or call and they were right there with the answers.
The only thing we did not think to research was the drugs used and the method by which we were put to sleep. Mexico still uses penicillin for infection and the anesthesiologists use ether, both which are heavily regulated in the U.S. or use have been discontinued. Therefore, if you feel you have an allergy to either or do not wish them to be administered to you, you may want to discuss this with them up front. There are probably other options.
Without a doubt, this was a very good decision. We would do it again without hesitation. My husband has successfully lost 55 pounds and I have lost 40. We are both very pleased.
