I was up to 180lbs and worried about my future health. I have an eating problem and I wanted stapled in discipline to force my mind to work within the constraints of my stomach, since the reverse has only worked for 1-3 years at a time over the last 25 years. The sleeve was a last ditch effort to stop the yo-yo cycle I ve been on half my life.
The whole experience was a smooth process from start to finish.
The setup:
There are so many ways to contact and get questions answered through Weightlossagents.com made it easy to set everything up from scheduling to documentation and payment - despite work constraints on time. So that portion was easy-peasy lemon squeezy.

The Trip:
That was the only other out of pocket cost was our flight, they really have this whole thing ironed out to a smooth operation. We had a little wait for our shuttle from the airport to Tijuana, where we met our soon to be Sleeved Up Friends.

The hotel was acceptable and clean, and the staff was WONDERFUL! I don t speak Spanish, but there were no communication problems at all.

The Surgery:
Meeting Dr. Almanza was a pleasure. He is very open and honest about expectations - he basically told my group he was doing half the work and the rest was up to us. He gave excellent instructions and has a great professional staff. The hospital was clean and the nurses were great!

Recovery:
We had almost 3 full days of post-op care with IV fluids and wound care. The nurses were wonderful!

Home:

Check your luggage on the way home or pack LIGHT, so you don t get hurt putting a suitcase in the overhead bin after surgery, the crew doesn t have to help - and fellow passengers are not always in the mood to do so!

I have lost almost 30lbs already and I feel just fine. I was fortunate and felt great after surgery. I was up and walking from the moment I was able after the anesthesia wore off sufficiently. I don t know if it was my pain tolerance, the fact that I work out, the prayers or a combination, but I had NO pain and only minimal discomfort after the procedure. I did not have my gall bladder removed, though.

It is 12/21/17 and I have accidentally eaten too much or too fast a few times, but I am learning. It helps me to have a visual of the amount of food my stomach will now hold, because I ve always eaten like a dog who hasn t been fed in a week. And it helps not to allow myself to get too ravenously hungry.

I feel as though my surgery is and will continue to be successful. I am so grateful to Dr. Almanza and the whole staff at Weightlossagents, the hotel in TJ and the hospital. Every RN was excellent!!!
Thank you Dr. Almanza - and thank you everyone who helped my journey. I am so thankful I didn t have to wait to meet criteria here in the states. I never thought I would go out of the states to have a medical procedure done, but my experience could not have been better!
