I was not sure about doing this but I had to take control of my health. As many of us do we try to diet, exercise and with limited results if any. After years of the weight gain and loss, I made the decision to do something about it. Several friends have had the gastric sleeve at a local hospital here in Houston, and the out of pocket expense was huge due to their insurance not covering the procedure. Which is cazy because insurance companies Say they want you to be healthy.
After doing some research I decided to go with the gastric sleeve and choose weight loss agents to set up my appointment with DR. Almanza at the Health and Green Hospital in Tijuana Mexico.
The Hospital was very clean and the staff all spoke English and were a terrific group of professionals. The Hospital sent a van to pick us up at San Diego International airport for the short trip to Tijuana where we went directly to the Hospital for a check-up by the doctors. Then we were taken to the hotel we would call home for the next 3 days.
The morning of the surgery we departed at 5 am for the hospital and I was out of surgery by 10:00. That day you stay in the hospital overnight so they can check on you but you have to get up and start walking to relieve the air in you cavity from the surgery. Follow all the instructions to the word for pre and post surgery. If so you will be in great shape for the surgery and recovery will be a lot easier.
After the night in at the hospital, you return the hotel where they have a nursing staff to check on you and the doctor comes by in the afternoon/evening. The following day you are taken to a Xray lab to see if you have any leaks in your stomach, the fluid they give you to drink will cause light diarrhea. If all is good your in the van the next morning heading back to the airport.
My experiece was ecellent, I have now lost 85LBS, feel great, blood pressure is normal, I stopped having gout attacks, I feel 30 years younger, I can walk 10 miles a day without pain or being out of breath.
