I had decided to have gastric sleeve after talking to many friends that had gone and being that I had ovarian cancer in 2009 and complete hysterectomy at the age of 28 I am no longer able to take hormone replacement because of the estrogen feeds cancer and my weight had been slowly climbing after completing chemo after original cancer diagnosis, I was dieting, working out with little success. Being that my Dr's told me the best thing I could do to keep cancer at bay was to watch my weight and sugar intake, I decided to head to Mexico! Being just a little over a year since I had the surgery I am down about 55lbs and couldn't be happier...anyone that thinks this is an easy fix to weight loss or magic solution, your wrong. There is a lot of mental prep for this to succeed if you go to think you don't have to change your eating habits cuz your stomach is half the size, don't do it! you really learn what it is to eat to live and not live to eat! I know some people that have gone one great but because they don't change some habits have had major complications or gained weight as well. I am going real soon to accompany my SiL to go have gastric sleeve as well, and have told many people how much better I feel and know I have bettered my health in the long run with doing this. I have 4 beautiful children 16,14,9, & 7 and me and my hubby run and own our own business, I now have the energy I had when I was younger and no more migraines or have a diet consisting of sugar and soda!! I'd be happy to give any other info or advice needed. the trip was different from what you see in the states but the dr and nurses were great and very attentive. and I met some great people in my group when I went. the only regret I have is not going sooner, and A MUST....FOLLOW ALL THE PRE AND POST OP INSTRUCTIONS...mentally prepare yourself for it and you will have better success.

Thanks for the experience and making me feel great!
