Hi. My name is Suzanne. I had a lap band put in a couple of years ago in Mexico. It was NOT a good thing. When I returned home to the USA, absolutely no doctors would see me for fills or even if I had related health problems! I had to fly from Wisconsin to San Diego for fills. Let me tell you that got pricey fast. Then the d#$% thing sprang a leak, I decided this wasn't working (although to be fair I did loose 40 lbs). I went on a website for gastric sleeve. I was really afraid because it is irreversible, but I had to do something about the broken lap band so I decided just to go for it. I am so, so glad I did.
The staff at Jerusalem hospital were wonderful. They were very kind and concerned for my well being. I had to stay an extra day due to the double nature of my surgery, but that worked out great because then I had an extra day for shopping. By the time I left to go home, I was off the pain medicine, I was a little stiff and sore but not in pain. My recovery went smoothly and I feel great. I have lost about 25 lbs and only want to loose another 10-15lbs. One of the ladies I went through surgery with lost 49lbs in the first 2 months. (we stay in touch through email). I was also diabetic. That is gone! Just Gone! I have no idea how or why, but I am no longer diabetic. I am absolutely thrilled with my new health. If I had it all to do over, I would do it in a heart beat. I can not begin to tell you how much better I feel. This is the best present I ever gave myself. It is so worth the discomfort and the money. I feel 20 years younger.
I hope if you are considering this surgery that you go ahead and take the plunge. You will be so glad you did. I know it is scary, but it is so worth it.

Good Luck,
Suzanne
