I weighed 213 pounds.. I love to eat and my husband is always taking me to new places to try new things ( we had both gained about 40 pounds since we met!) long story short... I had a friend who had the surgery (gastric sleeve) and said it was the best thing he had ever done for himself but he had a much larger amount of weight to loose than me. I needed to drop about 60 and no matter what I tried I could not do it!! I would loose some only to gain it back and more. I was so frustrated! I couldn't get the surgery in the states because my bmi was not high enough! I googled information about the surgery and found weightless agents. I called and that's how it all started! I was nervous at first but knew I really wanted this for myself. I flew to San Diego and they had a van waiting for me.. They took me to the hotel then to get my blood work and scheduled my surgery for the next morning. I would do it again if I had to..
About 1 month after my surgery I had a scan of my stomach and my doctor here at home said that my stomach looked great and that he was not surprised. I told him where I had my surgery and he told me that the doctors in Mexico pioneered this surgery.. They are the most qualified surgeons in the world for this particular procedure.
I am 5 months post now and have lost 62 pounds!! People who don't have a whole lot to loose like me will loose slower.. I dropped 30 in the first month. Then I lost about 3-5 per week for a few weeks. Then it went to 1-3 pounds per week.. I am now at about 1 pound per week now.
So don't worry about loosing too much if you are not really big to begin with. Your body will adjust and keep you healthy! I hope this helped.. Good luck!!
