First, a short background. I am 5'6" and the heaviest I have every been is 224 lbs. At the time of the surgery I weighed 210 lbs because the previous year I had lost about 50 pounds through dieting, but was quickly gaining the weight back. A cycle I have experienced over and over my whole adult life. I then that I decided that it was time to do something more permanent if I was ever to get out of this cycle. I also didn't want to wait until I was at my heaviest again before taking some action. I did some research including reading some testimonials and talking to other family members who have had Bariatric surgery, and decided that the sleeve made the most sense for me. So, I contacted the people at Weight Loss Agents and from that point forward everything was relatively easy. The people at Weight Loss Agents were outstanding. I had several questions leading up to my surgery, and all I had to do was post the question on my chat site, which they set up for me, and within a very short time, I had my answers. They checked in on me with short e-mails throughout the entire process, so anytime I a question, they were there to support me.

It has been just under 6 weeks since I had my sleeve surgery. My weight is down 34 pounds as of this morning, and I couldn't be happier. This isn't the first time I have lost this much weight in my life, but the difference this time is that I really have no choice than to keep the weight off. I am getting to where I can eat most things, but just in very small portions. There are times when I miss not being able to eat more, but then I look down at my shrunken body and smile. Probably like most everyone, I had my reservations in the beginning on several fronts. I wasn't sure if surgery was best for me, and the idea of going to Mexico for the surgery filled me with more than a little anxiety. I have to say however, that my experience was as good or better than I likely would have had in the U.S.. Dr. Almanza was outstanding! In the pre-surgery discussions he conveyed such a sense of confidence in his skills and those of his staff, that much of my anxiety melted away. The Bariatric hospital where the surgery was performed was a very new and modern building. The facility was as bright and clean as any hospital I have ever seen in the U.S.. The nursing staff both at the hospital and at the hotel where our group recovered was also outstanding. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and always available during the recovery process to provide help or answer questions. Their English was very good, and I never had any issues communicating with anyone either at the hospital or the recovery hotel. I would have to say that Weight Loss Agents, Dr. Almanza, and the entire medical and support staff really exceeded my expectations. Thank you all so very much!
