I have struggled all of my married life with weight. I was very active in school with sports and could eat anything I wanted because I would run it off. Then I got married and began having children. I was a stay at home mom and my husband was and is a Minister. As with most woman, I gave up and did without to be sure my family was cared for even if that meant I had no time to really take care of myself. I tried numerous diets and for the most part they all work for a period of time, but something would happen and the weight came back with a few friends. About five years ago after my middle son got married I started a "new" diet HCG I was very successful on it and dropped a lot of weight I felt great was walking and then it happened I had to have a hysterectomy. My blood count was so low they told me I could not diet for a year and for the first couple of months I could not even exercise. For someone with my history that was not what I needed. So the weight found it's way back. Around Christmas 2015 I began looking at weight loss plans to try yet again. I ran across Weight loss agents and begin researching the different surgery options and what they would do. I settled on Gastric Sleeve. I discussed with my husband who at first said do it and do it now don't wait until I said ok I will set it up then, he became concern. He was worried about traveling outside the US to do surgery but i had done my research. I filled out my Medical history paper work just to check to be sure that I would be able to have the surgery. I was accepted, my hopes where high. I found out I had to have a pass port so I went ahead and got that taken care of. I checked my work calendar and found a great week to be gone from there. I had already saved up my money to pay for the surgery. So I was set. I was so excited, only worry I ever had was going through the airport alone as I had only flown one other time. My grown children were not happy that I was going alone, but i told them hey I'm a grown woman I got this. July 5th flew out of Dallas as that was a straight flight didn't have to change planes. They picked me up along with a couple others that were going to have the same surgery. I even roomed with the lady that was on my van (as we were both by ourselves). Next day went to the hospital got all my blood work, EKG, paid my final money and was set for surgery. The only thing that I didn't like was I wasn't able to tell anyone back home exactly what time I was going in. (they have free wi-fi). Once I was out of surgery I was able to text my family. I had zero problems. A little gas discomfort, (no pain) I was walking using the bathroom, in fact if it wasn't for the IV and the bandages on my tummy I didn't feel any different. The next day I had to stay because I didn't come with anyone but got to leave after noon. Once back at the hotel, I ended up staying with another lady that had the same surgery and we were in the recovery room together. The hotel is very nice. The bell hop will lift your luggage for you and would help you in anyway you need. The staff at the hotel is very helpful and knowledgeable in this kind of surgery. The young man that drove us from the airport and back was great. Over all it has been great. As of July 18th (18 days including the Pre-op diet)I've lost 24 pounds. I am already getting around better have a lot more energy and I am learning how to eat small portions. I don't know today what tomorrow will bring but I do know that I am emerging into a "New ME'
