Yes, that I the response that I received most every time... A thought I even had myself... MEXICO?!!!?? Are you crazy? I researched for a year! Dr. Almanza had a 0% mortality rate on this surgery and 1% or less complication rate. Still... Mexico?!?! I made up my mind that I would sign up, go down there... Check out the place, and if I didn't feel comfortable I wouldn't do it!! I would turn it into a vacation and keep my life. But what happened next was totally unexpected! I arrived (and other than Melissa losing me at the airport) it was great. The hotel was amazing!!!! Marble countertops, marble bathroom, beautiful view ( ask for the area away from the club so you can get some sleep). The "hospital" is a little scary at first. It's in a small shopping center and more the size of a small US clinic. The lights are dim - which scared me!! The lights are bright where it counts - in the OR! I was 385 before surgery, now 2 months later I'm 319. I would do it again in a heartbeat! The flight home is a bit tough.... BEST OF LUCK!!!!
